The mini-van picked us up at 8:15 a.m. and returned us around 4:45...The tour was among the best we've ever experienced. It maintained an excellent balance between videos and narrative by tour guide Dennis, who provided a wealth of information about the Canyon, the Native Americans, and Arizona lore. The tour made more than half a dozen stops, allowing ample time for photos, bathroom stops, shopping in trading posts, and and snacks. (Lunch was on our own at El Tovar, a historic hotel/restaurant in the Canyon.) The tour starts out at the East End (instead of the South, which is where most tourists spend all their time), and provides amazing views at that often-neglected section of the Canyon. A must-do tour for newcomers to the Canyon, or returnees looking for a better perspective on their visit. Well worth it!
